Lima Jerawat remedies

Over-the-Counter Topical Medications For Acne


In the early stage of the ongoing war with acne, most people go to a pharmacy to buy an over-the-counter medication. There are so many treatments available for acne, that it can be a complicated decision. Advice from friends is not a reliable method for making a choice, because what worked for 1 person may not work for another. And advertising advice? Who trusts that?

You can make a more informed choice about which product to try just by knowing about the active ingredients in the various acne medications.

Benzoyl Peroxide

1 of the most popular ingredients in acne medications, benzoyl peroxide is available in gels and ointments. It kills the bacteria that causes pimples and helps remove dead skin cells that build up on the surface of the skin. These dead skin cells, when combined with sebum (oil), create blackheads and whiteheads. Dry skin is the only side effect, which can be minimized with less frequent application. It has a bleaching effect, so avoid hair and clothing when applying it.

Salicylic Acid

This is a popular acne ingredient which clears up dead skin cells that clog the pores. Continued use even after the skin has cleared up is necessary to avoid future acne outbreaks. Again, the side effect is dry, irritated skin.

Resorcinol

Resorcinol causes the top layer of skin to peel, which removes the dead skin cells that clog pores. It is often combined with sulphur.

Sulphur

Because of a strong, unpleasant odor, sulphur is usually combined with other ingredients. How it works is unknown, but it's been used effectively for decades. Sulphur is often combined with salicylate acid and benzoyl peroxide.

Products

Of all these ingredients, benzoyl peroxide is probably the most versatile. It can be made into cleansing liquids, bars, gels, lotions and cream, all of which are applied directly to the skin. Cleansing products are usually used once or twice daily, with creams and lotions applied as needed. They are most effective when rubbed on the area surrounding the acne, as well as on the pimples themselves.

It's always a good idea to discuss acne with a doctor before self-treating with any of these medications. Even though acne is a fairly harmless condition, a doctor can often offer better suggestions and explain the best way to handle your condition based on your particular kind of acne.

Flu Threat: Lessons From Past Pandemics


Flu and the Immune System

Influenza ("flu") strikes every year and afflicts millions. Under normal circumstances, flu is not considered a general public health risk. Of course, any disease must be taken seriously for two reasons.

First of all, any disease, including flu, can become dangerous through complications.

But, let's also understand the far more important issue with regard to flu (and not just avian flu)…but disease in general. Every flu is a problem primarily because our immune system gets compromised through life's stresses. Put bluntly, flu is "caught" by people because their immune system is not functioning well.

Immune system dysfunction and weakening occurs from constant stress, constant threat of danger, constant deprivation of nutritional needs, and constant exposure to vicissitudes of life. Flu …even deadlier strains such as avian flu, can be the result.

Specifically, flu impacts us due to an under active immune system. This is true of many diseases such as cancer, Hepatitis B and C, TB, strep, shingles as well as flu. Other disease conditions are the result of an over active immune system.

What makes this an issue of late is the fact that only recently has science begun to understand the immune system, its complications, its sheer power to fend off disease conditions and its power to aid in the healing process.

Remember that as we introduce the potential of avian flu.

Avian Flu and Pandemics of the Past

To understand the avian flu threat, we need to understand flu pandemics of the past. Flu epidemics have been explosive and unusually deadly. In past centuries, flu probably spread so fast due to humans and animals living in close proximity.

As you probably know, avian flu is a complex disease mutated from flu that kills birds. But, avian flu has mutated successfully to strike human life. Close proximity of animal and human life allows for such mutations to develop and spread.

Flu can spread like wildfire. The pandemic flu of 1580 began in Asia, spreading over all continents in less than a year. The flu engulfed all of Europe in less than six months.

That's the problem with flu breakouts. Flu pandemics hit like the proverbial flash flood. A highly contagious flu virus can hit populations that have little or no specific antibody immunities to the disease, infect a quarter of the population, outstrip societal response capability, disrupting societal health and economy.

The fear today is that avian flu will strike suddenly and will spread globally in a matter of mere months.

There were three flu pandemics of the 20th century. They are well documented as to origin, spread, and impact. Those flu pandemics occurred in 1918-19, 1957-58, and 1968-69.

The flu pandemic of 1918-19 killed upwards of 40 million people. No doubt, society did not have the tools nor understanding to stop the plague. However, if ever there was an argument for immune debilitation, it's war weariness.

Almost every author who writes about this flu pandemic notes the fact the world was at war. But, that was not a mere footnote. It was a major contributor to society's incapacity to restrain, much less stop the flu plague.

War brings unique circumstances, to say the least. War brings a strain to everything including the immune capacity of the survivors. If flu occurs in compromised immune systems, war guarantees the stress and deprivation which is often the prelude to plague:

" soldiers live in horrid conditions and return to a disrupted life but the effect on their immune system follows them into peace time …and plague,

" loss of loved ones brings its stresses to the emotions which impacts the immune system," constant anxiety for soldiers and loved ones even though they return safely, brings its emotional traumas and immune system depletion,

" loss of hygienic conditions weakens resistance and breeds viral and bacterial conditions,

" depression economy brings poverty and its consequences to human quality of life,

" uncertainty of safe living conditions (bombing, terrorism, battle, mob actions)
during war takes its own toll on the body

" disrupted economies, making recovery long, difficult and uncertain,

" work hours longer and work conditions harsher, pay less,

" crime, destruction, barbarism frightening or actual,

" whole economies perish, trade and commerce uncertain,

" political uncertainties,

" peace often brings more severe dislocation and hardship (this was especially the case after World War I),

" all populations suffer nutritional deprivation, with few exceptions

When flu strikes after such conditions, scientists often misjudge the fact that the victims, deemed "healthy", really were compromised terribly throughout the war and peace time consequences. The generation, which was victimized by the "Spanish flu" of 1918-1919, was in the age range of 15 - 35 … the very age which includes:

" soldiers,

" single parents,

" factory workers,

" teens called upon to assume unusual responsibilities on the home front

" workers in their prime, needed on all fronts...

" medical and other service personnel exposed to a constant need for their services,

Their "after the war" physical let down is almost reminiscent of what happens to people after particularly long periods of stress…They fall prey to flu, colds, and infection.

Why the flu? To answer that question, consider the physical impact upon athletes from their workouts.

It is now known that after a heavy workout, whatever other benefits accrue to the body, there is one clear draw back. The oxidized radicals thus formed take the body several days to get over… leaving the body open to radical damage and some internal harm. New research suggests glyconutritional supplementation taken before, during, and especially after workouts helps the body get over the radical burden in a matter of hours, not days.

Now, if recent research shows that athletic stress takes days to get over, often leaving damage to organs and tissues in its wake (especially if it is a habitual practice), why are we surprised at the massive flu fall out following the First World War - a war which was worldwide in its scope, as was the flu pandemic which followed it?

The Importance Of Human Needs


Human Needs And Their Fulfillment

Even though we are all different, we each have the same 6 basic human needs. These needs must be satisfied, otherwise we feel uncomfortable where we are, with our lives and ultimately with ourselves. Each of these 6 needs therefore have a very strong influence on your behavior, and even affect the type of success you achieve in life.

Security

The first and most fundamental human need, is the need for security. This need can come in many forms, such as the need for financial security, physical security or emotional security.

Before any other need is fulfilled people always seek to obtain a minimum amount of security in their lives. For example, if you were being chased by a tiger, your first concern would be finding safety. You would then think about other things such as finding something to eat. Providing you didn't get eaten first!

The amount of security we settle for will vary, although in general people make sure that they have a minimum amount of security first (such as finding a house to live in) before they move onto fulfilling other needs. Later this need may be returned to, and greater security may be sought after.

Comfort

Once you have an acceptable level of security in your life, the next natural human need is that of comfort. So once you have that house to live in, you will now want to decorate and add furniture to it. So that it is comfortable to live in.

The need for comfort can be an extremely powerful motivator of human behavior, as quite simply, people like to feel comfortable! However this need always comes after you feel secure where you are.

Leisure

Once you have obtained an acceptable level of security and comfort, your next need is for leisure. People value leisure time very highly, and so behavior is strongly motivated to achieve it. However leisure is a double edged sword.

People who value leisure too much may fail to fulfill other needs, such as by becoming lazy and lacking ambition. Conversely people may become highly productive in order to be able to experience leisure, such as by going on holiday.




Love

Love is perhaps one of the most strongest human needs, and can make people do all kinds of things. We all value love, and go to great lengths to obtain it. Without love, we feel lonely and our self esteem suffers.

Respect

Everyone desires to be respected by others. As children we often do things to impress our friends in order to gain their respect, and we do the same although in different ways, as adults.

Respects makes a person feel important and valuable. Without respect you will question your worth and importance as a person.

Purpose

Without purpose you will lack direction and meaning in life. Purpose is something that you believe you were put here to accomplish. It is why you exist and what you work for.

However many people struggle to find their true purpose in life, but for those that do, there can be perhaps no other stronger human need that will inspire and motivate behavior.

Importance Of Our Human Needs

As you can see, people all have the same basic human needs. However we are all different in how we choose to fulfill those needs. Some people may be happy with just security, comfort and leisure. Whilst others strive to fulfill all their needs.

For those who choose to fulfill only a few needs, they usually experience lots of fulfillment in one area of their life, such as comfort. However this is ultimately affected by the lack of fulfillment in other areas of their life, such as security.

For example, if all you are concerned about is comfort, and don't bother to get a job, ultimately your security will be threatened as you will no longer be able to pay the bills. Therefore in order to experience true fulfillment and satisfaction in life, it is essential to work on fulfilling all your basic needs.

5 Strategi Saat Bertengkar dengan Pasangan

VIVAnews - Masing-masing orang memiliki cara berbeda mengungkapkan pendapat saat tidak sepakat dengan orang lain, termasuk saat berbeda pandangan dengan pasangan.  Tak jarang, perbedaan ini menyulut pertengkaran.

Disadari atau tidak, bagaimana cara pasangan bertengkar akan memengaruhi kelanjutan hubungan. Wanita menangani konflik dengan cara yang sama sekali berbeda daripada pria. Jika Anda ingin berkomunikasi secara efektif dengan pasangan hidup Anda, sebaiknya berbicaralah menggunakan 'bahasa'-nya.

Berikut adalah lima tips agar hubungan semakin dekat setelah bertengkar, seperti dikutip dari Betty Confidential.

1. Berpikir sebelum bicara
Wanita cenderung emosional dan reaksioner, sementara pria tidak merespon dengan baik dua hal ini. Pria lebih suka membicarakan sesuatu dengan cara rasional dan tenang. Bila marah, luangkan waktu sebentar untuk menganalisis apa yang membuat Anda marah dan mengapa hal itu mengganggu Anda. Kemudian, bicarakan hal itu pada pasangan dengan singkat dan jelas.

Jangan pernah mengirim surat elektronik saat Anda benar-benar merasa marah, tapi tunggu 24 jam lagi dan bacalah kembali apa yang telah Anda tuliskan sebelum benar-benar mengirimnya.

2. Tidak menaikkan volume suara
Jika Anda ingin didengar, jangan berteriak, yang  hanya akan merusak pita suara. Lagipula pria hanya bereaksi pada teriakan sebagai sebuah kebisingan yang mengganggu.

Strategi yang lebih baik adalah dengan menggunakan "suara hati" Anda. Bayangkan bayi sedang tidur dan Anda tidak ingin membangunkannya saat mengeluarkan uneg-uneg Anda.

3. Jangan 'ungkap' masalah di media sosial

Perlu diingat, tidak ada yang lebih kuat daripada tulisan, dan Anda akan sulit menghapus efeknya kembali. Jika Anda menyatakan kemarahan atas kelakuan buruk pasangan, lakukan aktivitas fisik yang melelahkan seperti hiking di atas gunung sebelum meneriakkan kekesalan hati.

Jika Anda memberitahu semua teman mengenai perilaku yang membuat Anda kesal, semua orang akan melihatnya sebagai orang yang buruk seterusnya. Terlebih lagi saat dia tahu Anda mengecamnya secara terbuka, Anda mungkin akan sulit menerima permintaan maafnya. Plus, hal itu membuat Anda terlihat emosional, dan jahat.

4. Pertimbangkan pendapat Anda
Saat mengalami masalah, hal pertama yang dilakukan banyak wanita adalah meminta pendapat teman maupun teman pasangan untuk memberi masukan. Walaupun menerima nasehat yang sama secara berulang-ulang, jika belum mendengar apa yang mereka inginkan, biasanya wanita tetap berharap salah satu temannya akan memberi solusi yang dia harapkan.

Ingatlah, tidak peduli apa yang dikatakan teman, yang terpenting adalah apa yang Anda pikirkan. Daripada menarik semua orang ke dalam drama hidup Anda, lebih baik hindari kebisingan dan carilah ketenangan sendiri selama beberapa waktu. Meditasi dan mengosongkan pikiran akan membuat jawabannya jelas bagi Anda. Konfusius mengatakan, "Mereka yang memiliki masalah, juga memiliki jawabannya."

5. Jangan mengungkit masa lalu
Bila sedang marah dengan pasangan, jangan memunculkan kembali isu lama yang terjadi enam bulan lalu. Jika Anda merasa ada masalah hari ini, ungkapkan saja dalam satu-dua hari. Jangan marah karena hal yang mungkin telah dia lupakan, sebab membuatnya tidak mengerti mengapa Anda marah.

Selesaikan masalah dengan cepat dan jelas, setelah itu tutup rapat-rapat. Tinggalkan masa lalu di belakang kecuali Anda ingin menjadi bagian dari masa lalu pasangan.

Atasi Bau Mulut


Anda sudah rajin menyikat gigi dan berkumur dengan mouthwash sesudah Anda makan, tapi kok masih bau ya? Bahkan Anda sudah mencoba berbagai alat yang disarankan para ahli, ah tapi usaha Anda tampaknya sia-sia.

Jangan dulu putus asa, ada beberapa tips dari saya yang akan mengatasi masalah bau mulut Anda. Ini dia:

1. Buat jadwal diet veggie (sayuran) untuk Anda, harus sayuran mentah ya. Setidaknya konsumsi 50% sayuran mentah setiap hari selama 2 minggu. Dan lakukan diet veggie Anda secara rutin.

2. Pastikan setiap hari Anda minum 1 - 1,5 liter air mineral.

3. Hindari makanan-makanan yang menimbulkan aroma tak sedap, contohnya bawang merah, kopi, dan es krim.

4. Pastikan sikat gigi Anda selalu bersih dari kuman, rendam sikat gigi dengan air panas minimal seminggu sekali agar kuman-kuman yang menempel kabur dari sikat gigi Anda.

5. Hindari semua jenis produk yang mengandung tembakau, khususnya rokok, mereka para perokok cenderung memiliki bau mulut yang luar biasa. Ah sudahlah jangan pernah Anda membayangkan jika para perokok dikumpulkan di satu ruangan, lebih baik Anda baca tips selanjutnya saja.

6. Konsumsi buah-buahan segar dan sayuran setiap hari, jangan pernah melewatkan tips yang satu ini ya, karena manfaatnya tak hanya untuk mencegah bau mulut saja. Efek kesehatan lain juga dapat Anda rasakan

10 Habits Cause of Diabetes

Solution: Biking to the office.
6. Often stressStress just as a flood, must be channeled to a big flood. When stress comes, the body will increase production of the hormones epinephrine and cortisol blood sugar to rise and there are reserves of energy to move. Our bodies are designed in such a way as to the best of intentions. However, if the blood sugar continues triggered by prolonged stress with no way out, might as well commit suicide slowly.
Solution: Talk to people who are considered problematic, or tell me the closest friends.
